Looking forward to seeing everybody in a few days! Keegan is here in Queretaro with us now as we have a retreat planned in Amealco this weekend. This being the case we will be out of e-mail and phone touch today through Monday evening. Please e-mail Brock and Heather Hower if you have any last minute questions.
In preparation for conference Keegan asked me to encourage us all to be reading through parts of 1 Samuel chapter 16 through 2 Samuel chapter 2, especially focusing on David's relationships, and primarily his relationship with Jonathan.

Note from Keegan
Greetings from Texas! Jon and I look forward to being with you in just a couple of weeks. My prayer is that each of you and your families are enjoying God’s blessings. Some of you may remember that the vision of Quest is “To encourage CAM missionaries to remain faithfully engaged in their pursuit of Christ-likeness.” “The pursuit of Christ-likeness is the process in which the believer, as God's beloved, is being transformed into the image of Christ for the glory of God and the sake of others." Our prayer is always that God will use us to create an environment that enables missionaries to experience God's redemptive power so that by His grace they come to live their full potential in Christ. We believe spiritual health necessitates the nurture of the whole person (physical/emotional, intellectual, relational and spiritual, Luke 2:52).
Our participation in this year’s conference will not convert the conference into a Quest event. Our goal is that of simply introducing some of the principles that characterized Quest events. I want to encourage each of you to be praying for God to use this year’s conference as a special blessing in the life of each of your team members. When we pray, God is free to work.
I want to also challenge you to come ready to work both as teams and individuals. It is in the context of teams that the most important learning will be done. I am the first to admit that it is always enjoyable to have someone come and share their personal experiences and insights from Scripture. However, I think we would all agree that there is great value in getting in the Word on a personal level and with peers to seek what God is saying and desires for our lives and ministries. The only downside to this approach is that it means you and I have to do the work rather than someone else. Experience tells us that the benefits far out weight the costs. Our goal will be to provide the tools and information that will enable you to effectively learn as teams and individuals.
Another goal for the conference has been to include time for a “personal retreat”. Some suggestions and tools will be provided for your use during this time. However, I want to encourage you to take this time and use it in whatever way God leads. It is a rare opportunity in the midst of life’s demands that we have the blessing of spending an extended time with the Lord. A second challenge I would extend to you is that this time be specifically focused on you and your relationship with God as opposed to using it for personal Bible study or ministry evaluation. Some of you may want to spend a part of the time alone and then a part of it with your spouse. If you have reading materials, journals, music that would enhance your ability to connect with and hear God, please bring them.
As I previously mentioned, a focus of Quest is that of nurturing the total person. In light of this commitment you will note that the Bajio team has worked to assure that there is plenty of time in the schedule for relaxation, fellowship and fun. I know that their goal is that you leave this time more fully energized physically, mentally, relationally and spiritually.
